We are looking for a highly driven Junior Tax Analyst - Airports to join Turo’s tax team. As an Junior Tax Analyst - Airports, you will be responsible for compliance with airport agreements, including compliance with airport fees reporting, updating and maintaining airports compliance, and implementation of taxability tools and tax impact analysis of ongoing airport agreements. As a member of Turo’s tax team, you will be at the forefront of a rapidly expanding global organization. Expect to contribute to team-wide strategies and managing internal processes on key compliance issues, while being accountable for delivering results and best practices. The ideal candidate for this position understands general tax principles and possesses excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand principles of indirect tax and coordinate across business functions. With your passion for teamwork and ambitious, proactive style, you will make significant contributions to every aspect of our Tax function, managing and facilitating Turo’s phenomenal growth rate.
What You’ll Do:
Own all aspects of Turo’s airport fee compliance, including timely filing of the periodic airport reports with an exponentially growing number of airport authorities
Maintain and monitor compliance calendar to stay abreast of all deadlines
Perform account reconciliations & create airport fee schedule true ups for financial accounting purposes
Support audits by airport authorities by researching and collecting data as well as coordinating with auditors and internal personnel
Coordinate with airports on ad-hoc report requests by the airports
Assist in planning initiatives, including analysis of airport agreements
Research, quantify, and document positions and strategies on airport reporting
Work with cross-functional teams within finance and as business partners with other operational areas
Other tax projects as required or needed
1+ years of overall experience. Some tax background a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Tax or related field
Demonstrate a basic understanding of US and International tax concepts. Indirect tax knowledge a plus
Comfortable working with technology and company-wide solutions
Tax research and writing skills
Proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to collaborate and work with a diverse team across functional and business boundaries
Excellent analytical skills with extreme attention to detail
Self-motivation and drive, ability to work independently with a passion for teamwork, very strong documentation skills
Ability to shrewdly identify problems and apply strong problem-solving skills to obtain resolution
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting rapidly when priorities and deadlines shift
Comfortable with ambiguity, not easily discouraged
Positive, customer service-oriented approach to work
