Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager!  This role will play an essential part in Turo’s growth and success and will report to the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. This is a unique opportunity to roll up your sleeves and help support the external reporting and technical accounting processes. This position will collaborate closely with cross functional departments.

Responsibilities:
 
Prepare the consolidated quarterly and annual financial statements and related footnotes (including information in the S-1A, 10-Q’s, 10-K’s, proxy statements, earnings releases, etc.)
Collaborate with various business teams and partners to ensure timely, accurate and complete reporting
Analyze and assess technical accounting topics impacting the company, including evaluation, documentation and communication of all new accounting standards, SEC reporting and general reporting trends
Maintain Turo’s critical accounting policies and processes
Develop effective internal controls in relation to the financial reporting process
Assist external auditors, business leaders and senior management to ensure communication of critical issues in a timely manner
Maintain a monthly and quarterly reporting deck for accounting leadership and BOD purposes
Create key reports from NetSuite to support monthly and quarterly reporting
Participate in special projects as needed
 
Requirements:
 
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
3+ years of experience, of progressive experience in auditing and/or accounting
Strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of accounting position papers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with great attention to details and excellent time management skills
Proficiency in MS Office Excel functions and capabilities
Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills to collaborate and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization
Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Passionate and enthusiastic about remaining up to date on current accounting rules and regulations
 
Preferred:
 
NetSuite, Workiva, and Flocast experience is a plus
Experience with modifying or writing NetSuite reports is a plus
CPA certification, active license status
