Technical Product Marketing Manager at Apollo
San Francisco, CA, US
GraphQL is a revolutionary technology replacing legacy REST APIs and doubling the speed that product engineering teams can ship products. Apollo is the leading GraphQL implementation, with organizations from Expedia to Airbnb to Audi powering their web and mobile experiences using the Apollo platform.
As an Apollo Technical Product Marketing Manager, you will help craft this new industry category and position Apollo’s platform to continue leading the GraphQL mega trend. Product Marketing is a highly strategic function at Apollo, organizing the entire company around launches, content, and go-to-market efforts.

What You'll Do

  • Market segmentation and positioning - Learn Apollo’s customers so that you can craft the best positioning for Apollo’s products. Know their business, software development tool stack, workflows, and jobs to be done. Empathize with the problems they experience and what motivates them. Then teach this to the rest of Apollo and use it to inform your positioning.
  • Content strategy and creation - Identify what product teams want to read, listen to, and watch in order to learn about and adopt Apollo. Then go produce that content, maximize distribution through appropriate channels, and measure results.
  • Product launches - Launch products and features to market. Work with product and sales to develop a strategy, align the company on a plan, and then take the reins and manage the entire effort.
  • Sales enablement - Work with sales managers to develop and execute an enablement plan. Then build the pitch decks, product training, and competitive briefs that sales needs to educate our customers.

About You

  • You're a natural storyteller and an excellent communicator who easily explains complex technical concepts with examples, analogies, and stories.
  • You're a detail-oriented project manager that not only builds the strategy for projects such as feature launches and content initiatives, but also works across the organization to get it done.
  • You have a positive, sunny communication style – a “rising tide lifts all boats” mentality.
  • You're self-directed with a proven track record of taking initiative and driving business outcomes.
  • You're technically astute with a general/conversational knowledge of application development architecture.
This position can be done from our San Francisco headquarters.
Apollo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a talented and diverse workforce.
